How Cursor usage limits work

On current Cursor plans (Free, Plus, Premium, Super, Ultra and Teams seats), every paid plan includes one weekly pool of usage for Cursor models (Grok 4.7, Grok 4.6, Grok 4.5 and Composer 2.5). That pool is shared across Cursor, Grok Bot and the Grok apps.

Third-party models aren't included in the pool. On Premium and above they are billed at API list price from your prepaid credit. Which model you pick changes how fast the pool drains.

Legacy Cursor plans (Hobby, Start, Pro, Pro+, Ultra, Teams Standard/Premium) instead split usage into two monthly pools: Cursor Models and Other Models.

When limits reset

Current plans: the pool refreshes weekly, and the next reset date is shown under Usage at grok.com/dashboard. Legacy plans reset monthly with your billing cycle (shown on the Spending tab). Unused included usage does not roll over. Prepaid credit doesn't reset; each top-up lasts until used or until it expires (currently 365 days after purchase).

What happens when you hit the limit

You get a notification in the editor. On current plans you can keep working from prepaid credit, wait for the weekly reset, or upgrade. On legacy plans you can enable on-demand (pay-as-you-go) usage or upgrade.

How to check your usage

Current plans: open Usage at grok.com/dashboard (your editor settings show the same remaining usage). Legacy plans: the Spending tab in your dashboard.
